Freezer Sensor Error

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

What This Means

Short circuit on freezer sensor (resistance reads 0 ohm); Open/disconnected freezer sensor (resistance reads infinity); Loose or damaged connector at CON8 pins 22-21

How to Fix

  1. 1

Step 1: Check connector between Main PCB and freezer sensor — if loose or disconnected, reconnect or repair connector and retest.

  2. 2

Step 2: Measure resistance at CON8 pins 22-21. If resistance = 0 ohm (short), replace the freezer sensor.

  3. 3

Step 3: If resistance = infinity (open), proceed to Step 4.

  4. 4

Step 4: Check temperature vs. resistance using reference table: -22°F/-30°C=40kΩ, -13°F/-25°C=30kΩ, -4°F/-20°C=23kΩ, 5°F/-15°C=17kΩ, 14°F/-10°C=13kΩ, 23°F/-5°C=10kΩ, 32°F/0°C=8kΩ. If resistance matches expected value for measured temperature, no problem — explain to customer.

  5. 5

Step 5: If resistance does not match expected table value, replace the freezer sensor.

  6. 6

Step 6: Check sensor harness connection integrity — if abnormal, reconnect or repair connector.

  7. 7

Step 7: If all above steps are OK and error persists, replace the refrigerator main PCB.
